Frequently Asked Questions

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and deep relaxation. In this state, the mind becomes more receptive to positive suggestions, helping you shift patterns, habits, and emotional responses that may be limiting your wellbeing. Hypnotherapy uses this state therapeutically to support change, clarity, and emotional balance.

What is a hypnotic trance?

A trance is not sleep — it’s a familiar mental state you experience in everyday life. If you’ve ever been absorbed in a book, a film, or your own thoughts, you’ve entered a trance-like state.
In hypnotherapy, this state is intentionally guided so you can access deeper layers of the mind where automatic patterns are stored.

What will I experience during hypnosis?

Most people find hypnosis deeply calming and restorative. It feels similar to guided meditation: peaceful, comfortable, and inwardly focused.
You don’t need to reveal anything personal unless you choose to. The work happens within you — your hypnotherapist simply guides the process.

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes. Hypnosis is a safe, collaborative process. You remain aware of your surroundings, you stay in control, and you can come out of the hypnotic state at any time. You only engage with suggestions that feel right for you.

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves gently stimulating specific points on the body to support natural regulation and balance. It can influence circulation, the nervous system, muscular tension, inflammation, and internal movement within the body.
It is commonly used for pain, stress, fatigue, digestive issues, hormonal patterns, and general wellbeing.

Is acupuncture safe?

Yes. When performed by a qualified practitioner, acupuncture is considered very safe. Most people are surprised by how gentle it feels — often describing it as unusual but comfortable.
With over 20 years of experience, I ensure treatments are tailored, precise, and appropriate for each individual.

What is Chinese herbal medicine?

Chinese herbal medicine is a traditional therapeutic system that uses plant-based formulas to support internal balance. These formulas are tailored to the individual and can address patterns related to digestion, immunity, inflammation, hormonal balance, energy, and emotional wellbeing.
I prescribe modern granular concentrates — the same traditional formulas, but easier to prepare and take.

What can Chinese herbs help with?

Herbal formulas are often used for chronic or complex patterns such as digestive issues, menstrual irregularities, skin conditions, fatigue, stress-related imbalance, and fertility support.
They work gently with the body and are selected based on a full Chinese medicine assessment.

Are Chinese herbs safe?

Yes. When prescribed by a trained, registered practitioner, Chinese herbal medicine is considered safe and well-tolerated. Formulas are chosen carefully based on your constitution, presentation, and overall health.
